Overview
The Marsyangdi River — known as the “Raging River” — is one of Nepal’s most intense and
continuous kayaking rivers. Flowing through the Annapurna region, it offers a high-volume,
technical Class IV–V whitewater experience with breathtaking mountain backdrops and deep
gorges. This river is strictly for experienced kayakers who crave challenge and adventure.
Highlights
● Continuous Class IV–V technical rapids
● Jaw-dropping views of Annapurna & Manaslu ranges
● Steep gradient and big water – ideal for adrenaline seekers
● Remote gorges, suspension bridges, and cascading waterfalls
Kayaking Experience
The Marsyangdi is often called Nepal’s most exciting whitewater for good reason. With
non-stop rapids, tight lines, and a fast gradient, it requires excellent control, fitness, and
reaction time. This is not for learners.
Key rapids include:
● Twinkie
● Brain Washer
● Good Morning Rapid
Expect narrow drops, powerful holes, and fast water. You’ll scout many rapids before running
them and paddle through remote, untouched landscapes.
